How Do I Join?

Ready to Join the Pretoria East Toastmasters Club? We’re Excited to Welcome You! 

Congratulations on deciding to join us! We’re thrilled you’re ready to take the next step. Here’s how to become a member:

  1. Get the Application Form:                                                                                        You can obtain a Toastmasters application form by contacting our Vice President of Membership (VPM).  When you visit our club, we can also provide a hard copy of this form to you. 

2. Understanding the Fees:                                                                                            Here’s a breakdown of our membership fees:

MEMBERSHIP FEES:                                                                                                          The Toastmasters International membership fee is structured in two parts:

One-Time Joining Fee:                                                                                              Toastmasters International charges a one-time joining fee of $20 USD.        

Our club charges R390 for this fee. You only pay this once, when you first join. If you leave Toastmasters and later decide to return, you will not have to pay this joining fee again.                                                                                                          

Bi-Annual Membership Dues:                                                                                      These dues are paid in 6-month terms. The upcoming terms are:

    • April 2025–September 2025
    • October 2025 – March 2026

Our club adds a small amount to these dues to cover venue rental and administrative costs. The total amount for each 6-month term is due before the start of that term, both for new members and for renewals. The total cost for each 6-month cycle is R 1 650.        

Renewal Reminders:                                                                                                         We’ll send you a friendly reminder to renew your membership dues in March and September.

  1. Making a Payment:                                                                                                        Our Treasurer manages all club finances and will be happy to provide you with an invoice for new memberships or renewals. For your convenience, we will also process your payments on the Toastmasters International site. Contact our naasolivier@lantic.net to get started.
  1. Submitting Your Application:                                                                             Once you’ve completed the Membership form, made your payment and forwarded the Proof of Payment to the VPM and/or Treasurer, you can submit your application in one of the following ways:
      • Email it to our Vice President of Membership at                       kamohelo.makwela@gmail.com
      • Hand it in at a club meeting to the VPM or Exco member
